There are two versions of this unit, one with the display and temperature controller and one without.  The primary application for the unit without controller is if want to use the unit with a separate temperature controller such as the ALTv2 or ASC units.  The primary difference will be that the integrated controller is just on/off control while the ALT and ASC feature variable speed control.

By default the unit will come with rubber 'feet' for placing the unit on top of a component.  If rack mounting, ensure to select the Rack Mount option.  

If not selected, rack mounting brackets will not be included.

Compared to the other Component Units, this unit is mid-depth, not full depth like the other units, with means you cannot place larger components on top of the unit, this would more likely be used on top of an amplifier or receiver.  The other component units feature 92mm fans while this unit features Dual 120mm fans.  The fans still  utilize the magnetic bearing system which is superior to ball bearing fans which just get louder as time goes on.  The magnetic bearings are simply a newer and far superior technology.

The integrated display and controller displays the temperature and can be programmed to turn the fans on and off (it is not variable speed). The sensor can by mounted remotely so you're not just monitoring the temperature below, or in the front of the unit which does not provide an accurate reading of the equipment.  The display/controller also features various programming options such as:  temp calibration, on/off temp differential, delayed start, high temp alarm...

Warranty

The unit housing is a lifetime unit meaning the housing is expected to last a lifetime with basic maintenance and service.  The fan assemblies are warranted for 3 years and the controller for 1 year.   This warranty excludes damage caused by misuse or for applications other than the intended use.
