This section includes infrared (IR) systems and accessories.  IR remote controls require 'line of sight' to function.  In other words, if the business end of your remote control cannot 'see' your components, then it will not work.  An IR system will allow you to remotely control components that are located in a closed cabinet or other location that is not within a direct line of sight of your remote control.  A complete IR system consists of a target or receiver (where you point the remote control), an emitter or flasher (which relays the infrared signal to your components), a termination block (to connect the target and the emitter/emitters together) and a power supply.  Some of the kits below are complete solutions while others require the addition of a target.  Please read the descriptions carefully to ensure that you are ordering all the parts needed to complete your project.  Additionally, you may need some Cat5 cable to span the distance between the target and the termination block depending on the location of your components.  Click HERE for more information on IR systems and IR technology.
